Reintroduce Yourself Thread  

  Hello everyone, it's Melissa Johns wife  (MollieLover) thanks for Joining the forum.

Hey guys, my name is Laura Windels and I joined Petfish as a 14-15 year old back in... 2004?  I grew up with snowflake morays, got my own fish when I was 11, and my first 10g when I was 12.  At one point in high school I had probably 10 bettas and intended to be an ichthyologist.  In college I mostly kept apple snails, garden snails, slugs, millipedes, and backyard isopods.

I turned 30 this summer.  I’m really into mermaids and have two homemade swimmable fabric tails.  My hair has been dyed blue/green since July 2011.  I’m a full-time preschool teacher and am celebrating 5 years at my current school this week.  I’m currently serving as president to the Minnesota Herpetological Society and can be found at most volunteer events.

Current pets:
5.5yo green iguana, 7yo Mexican Black kingsnake, 11yo cali/eastern king cross, 3yo pueblan milksnake, 2yo cali king, 2mo gray-banded king, (watersnake coming soon)...
... 2yo melanoid axolotl, 2 western tigers, 1 eastern tiger, 1 spotted, 1 blue-spotted, 2 marbled salamanders, 2 alpine newts, and 2 Eastern newts.  Also, a tarantula, two walking sticks, and a 10g of Porcellio dilatatus.

I was ruthcatrin at the old site too.  I don't currently have any fish, but I really enjoyed the old forum, maybe the new one will inspire me to get a tank going again!

Hellooooo!  Plecosaurus here! *wave wave*  I am fishless these days, but it's really nice to be back in the Petfish family.  Looking forward to reading everyone's posts.

So happy you joined us!  We have two tanks set up a 30gallon cube  reef tank and  a 40gallon  freshwater tank.

HEYYY! I remember you. 🙂  Gosh - was it that long ago??  Certainly, I haven't aged 15 years. 😉  Glad you're doing well and are involved in all these interesting things!  

I’m LittlePuff. Same as the old website. I have only two tanks up now. One fresh and one saltwater. Two are waiting to be filled. Freshwater.

Hey!  I remember you and Fry too!  It seems like there are a lot of us that don't really have aquariums anymore.  I bought 7 feeder minnows today and it's the first time in nine years that I've had a fish around.  I keep forgetting that they're sitting on the coffee table and looking over confused to see what's moving over there.  ?

I was aquaajb on the old forums, although I have long since retired that alias.

I was maybe 12 or 13 when I first found the site. At that time, it was using an old forum platform that put every thread in a giant list on a single page. I was pretty excited when Clint revamped the site and installed a much better forum package. That is when I realized you can use the internet to build anything and first got interested in software (now my career).

This forum looks even better than the old days! Just need some marketing to suck in some users. 🙂 

Hey all! Glad to see people back together! I was Firestar back in the old days too, I want to say 2003ish onwards? I had bettas back in the day, and a handful of other various fish. I'm without a tank these days, but I'm sure I'll occasionally post a photo of the tank that's set up at my workplace!
